When we first came to Safed,you had to pay someone to cart away surplus stones:nowadays they cost 7-8 shekels each.A local builder is carrying off this haul,thereby unblocking a narrow alley that leads to my studio.The third test kiln [with coloured glazes] is currently at 850 degrees and rising.
