More from the salt:large slab is Jack Doherty's home-made castable recipe from Ayelet and Ezer,who are waiting to build a kiln;strip on right is a mix of equal parts of stoneware clay,alumina and grog.Jack's mix looks unaffected by the salt,the other test lightly glazed.That's the mix I planned to use for the lid of my little cast kiln...hope it'll stand up in the firing...
