Moon-foot
A rather confusing picture, showing large porcelain bowl #5 [the first 4 all cracked drying, you may recall] slightly moon-footed but almost dry and uncracked. This time I used unadulterated Coleman porcelain and took more care trimming; it seems to have worked- now to make a few more and bisc them...What's "moon-foot"? I hear you ask: it's when you don't have the piece completely centered when you trim it,so one side of the foot-ring is wider than the other- then you give it a fancy name so you don't have to sell it as a second [see April 18th blog for another example- the title of this blog is also a link that will whisk you there in a click}.
